Australian construction firms tap Lynk Global offshore staff

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA — Australian construction firms are increasingly turning to offshore staffing providers such as Lynk Global as labor shortages, rising salary pressure, and project demand strain local hiring markets.
Lynk Global says clients are using dedicated Manila-based estimators, drafters, project coordinators, and finance staff to support delivery and ease pressure on local teams.
Australia construction labor shortage drives offshore hiring
Australia’s construction sector faces a projected shortfall of 300,000 skilled workers by 2027, driven by a AUD 242 billion (US$169.1 billion) public infrastructure pipeline, housing targets, and renewable energy projects.
Small and mid-sized firms are struggling with backlogs in estimating, overstretched project coordinators, and finance teams burdened by administrative tasks.
“What we are hearing a lot at the moment is that businesses are feeling a lot of pressure from both ends. The local market is tight, experienced staff are hard to find and salary expectations have increased significantly,” said Daniel Koulouris, managing director of Lynk Global.
“At the same time, the work is still there, projects are still moving and businesses still need support around them more than ever to keep everything running properly,” Koulouris added.
Koulouris explained that senior staff often spread themselves too thin, taking on tasks outside their expertise, while business owners are pulled into administrative roles.
“It is not always that businesses need more people, full stop. They need the right support in the right places,” Koulouris said.
Lynk Global places Manila-based staff in construction teams
Unlike shared-service outsourcing models, Lynk Global places full-time, dedicated staff in Australian construction teams from its Manila office.
Roles include estimators, drafters, project coordinators, and finance officers. The staff use client tools, follow reporting structures, and are integrated as permanent team members rather than shared resources.
“Construction stood out because the need is obvious. There are labor shortages, there is salary pressure, and there are a lot of roles that add real value without needing to sit physically in Australia every day,” Koulouris said.
“These are not just admin tasks. They are important functions in the business, and if they are handled properly, they free up senior people and create real capacity,” Koulouris added.
Offshore staff have assisted clients in decreasing administrative work delays and increasing project reporting speed while enabling senior estimators to concentrate on tasks that generate income.
Koulouris stated that success occurs when offshore team members achieve full integration into their work, which enables them to work effectively with the organization’s operational schedule.
Skilled offshore hiring grows as AI reshapes routine outsourcing
As AI and automation reshape low-skill outsourcing globally, the construction sector is seeing a shift toward high-value, skilled offshore roles.
The approach allows companies to achieve operational stability while decreasing their operational costs and increasing their ability to expand their workforce.
Lynk Global is currently subscribed as an Outsource Accelerator (OA) BPO Partner. Through OA’s Marketing, Sales, and Source Partner Hubs, the firm accesses a unified growth platform designed to convert high-intent prospects and accelerate deal flow in the outsourcing industry.
