Sendero acquires Torq Consulting for AI, digital work

TEXAS, UNITED STATES — Sendero acquired Torq Consulting, a Plano, Texas-based digital transformation firm specializing in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered custom development, digital engineering, and data and analytics.
Torq adds approximately 90 employees to Sendero’s operations and will continue under the brand “Torq, a Sendero Company.”
AI custom development drives Sendero’s Torq acquisition
Sendero is a Dallas-based management consulting firm founded in 2004 with clients across energy, financial services, healthcare, and aviation sectors.
According to a report from Consulting.us, the Torq acquisition fills a capability gap in AI-powered custom software development, where Sendero can now build solutions tailored to client operations rather than adapting to the constraints of packaged enterprise software.
“For decades, businesses have had to adapt their processes to fit the rigid requirements of packaged software. AI-powered custom development changes that equation entirely – allowing tailored, bespoke solutions to be built directly around the business to drive true innovation and differentiation.
Torq brings the technical depth and the track record to do that at scale, and this acquisition instantly expands our ability to deliver those results for our clients nationwide,” said Bret Farrar, chief executive officer and founder at Sendero.
Torq operates from Plano under its own brand
Torq Consulting will operate from its Plano, Texas, office under the name “Torq, a Sendero Company,” adding digital products, data analytics, and enterprise transformation capabilities to Sendero’s existing practice areas.
The addition of roughly 90 employees gives Sendero the technical depth to take on larger, more complex digital transformation engagements across its seven-sector client base, which includes defense and aerospace alongside commercial industries.
“Sendero carries an incredible reputation and long-standing history of brand recognition in their markets, backed by deep industry experience. We are gaining the rapid scale needed to execute larger, more complex digital transformations while staying firmly committed to our shared values,” said Chad Staiger, founder and chief executive officer at Torq Consulting.
The deal accelerates a trend in management consulting where mid-size firms combine advisory expertise with technical engineering capabilities, enabling them to support clients from strategy through implementation using AI-powered development.
For clients in regulated sectors like healthcare, financial services, and aviation, custom digital solutions reduce compliance risk compared to off-the-shelf software platforms.
The acquisition extends Sendero’s reach into the broader technology business process outsourcing (BPO) market, where AI-native development is replacing rules-based automation across industries.
