Jordan pushes digital outsourcing, youth jobs

AMMAN, JORDAN — Jordan’s Information and Communications Technology Association (Intaj) and youth employment organization Education For Employment-Jordan (EFE-Jordan) have announced plans to develop new projects targeting digital outsourcing sector expansion and youth employment, building on a partnership that placed 158 graduates into jobs and helped six Jordanian IT companies close 12 international deals.

Six IT companies win 12 deals in Saudi Arabia and Oman as initiative reaches second phase

Intaj and EFE-Jordan conducted capability assessments of 51 Jordanian IT companies and selected 10 for a specialized capacity-building programme, of which six went on to conclude 12 commercial deals in Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Twelve specialized training programs enrolled 341 young participants, of whom 297 completed requirements.

The 158 employment outcomes from 297 completions represent a 53% placement rate, measuring how the initiative converted training completions into documented job placements for young Jordanian business process outsourcing (BPO) and technology workers.

“The next phase will focus on enhancing ‘competitiveness’ of Jordanian companies to access new markets and preparing youth to work in the digital outsourcing sector,” said Nidal Bitar, chief executive officer of Intaj.

New projects pair youth skills development with company access to EU and GCC markets

The second phase targets Jordanian technology companies seeking to access European Union and Gulf Cooperation Council markets alongside the Saudi Arabia and Oman gains recorded in the first phase.

Projects will combine company-level competitiveness support for Jordanian outsourcing firms with youth skills development for digital outsourcing roles, running both tracks in parallel.

Jordan’s digital outsourcing sector is being developed simultaneously from the demand side, by strengthening established IT company commercial reach, and from the supply side, by training entry-level workers to internationally employable standards.

“The projects currently under development will provide skills for Jordanian youth to join the digital outsourcing sector, enhance their competitiveness and access to opportunities to achieve sustainable job opportunities, in parallel with supporting companies seeking qualified talent to expand their operations,” said Ghadeer Khafash, chief executive officer of EFE-Jordan.

For enterprise buyers evaluating the Middle East and North Africa region as an outsourcing delivery location, Jordan’s paired approach of building company competitiveness and training entry-level workers simultaneously differentiates it from talent-development programs that do not connect graduates to active commercial pipelines.

The 12 Saudi Arabia and Oman deals from six programme companies demonstrate that the model is generating commercial results beyond domestic placements, with Gulf Cooperation Council client acquisition providing a commercial reference base that European procurement teams will increasingly recognize.
