Pakistan call centers hit record $392Mn in exports: report

KARACHI, PAKISTAN — Pakistan’s call center industry recorded export earnings of $392 million in the financial year ending June 2026, the highest total on record and a 19% increase from $329 million the prior year, according to State Bank of Pakistan data.
1,000 registered call centers serve foreign clients as AI lifts capacity
More than 1,000 call centers are registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board, alongside approximately 500 additional sizeable unregistered operations. Around 90% of registered centers serve foreign business process outsourcing (BPO) clients, with the United States accounting for roughly 70% of the sector’s international business.
Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and markets across the Middle East and Europe account for the remaining share, giving Pakistan’s call center industry a geographically diversified client base.
Pakistan’s call center sector employs more than one million people, making the FY2025-26 record the highest export outcome for one of South Asia’s largest outsourcing workforces by headcount.
The Call Centers Association of Pakistan said artificial intelligence (AI) tools had helped Pakistani companies increase their capacity and serve new international clients, identifying AI adoption as a structural driver of the export growth recorded in FY2025-26.
Enforcement against fraud-linked operators shapes the sector’s reputational trajectory
Pakistan’s call center sector faces ongoing reputational risk from fraud-linked operations, which government ministries and law enforcement agencies have been cited as targeting through intensified enforcement action.
The enforcement focus creates a strategic division between legitimate operators, whose record export earnings represent credible commercial growth, and illicit operations that generate the reputational exposure that international buyers and regulators assign to the entire sector.
Managing legitimate call center industry growth alongside the sector’s exposure to fraud-linked reputational damage is the defining challenge for Pakistani authorities seeking to sustain the $392 million export trajectory.
For enterprise buyers evaluating Pakistan as a call center and BPO delivery location, the $392 million figure establishes the country’s commercial scale in voice and business process services.
The 70% concentration in the United States market also signals a diversification opportunity: established providers in Pakistan have the infrastructure and workforce for secondary English-speaking markets that buyers currently source from the Philippines or India.
Continued enforcement against illicit operations, if sustained, strengthens the compliance assurance that international procurement teams require before committing to offshore delivery relationships in markets with mixed reputational records.
