ABM buys Plenum, creates coast-to-coast IT MSP

NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA — Dartmouth-based ABM Integrated Solutions has acquired Calgary’s Plenum Group, creating an east-to-west fabric of managed-services coverage across Canada.
“This is more than an acquisition—it’s the beginning of a new era for ABM by expanding our managed service offerings to provide coast-to-coast coverage in Canada that complements our existing national field services business,” said Joe Shannon, President of ABM Integrated Solutions.
“By combining our strengths, we’re delivering the agility and personalized service of a local provider, with the scale, stability, and innovation of a national enterprise.”
Complementary strengths, single brand
Under the ABM banner, the combined company will field a unified 24/7 help-desk, national on-site field service, and expanded cybersecurity, cloud and point-of-sale (POS) offerings.
Plenum’s reputation for hands-on network management and PHoIP business-phone solutions dovetails with ABM’s enterprise-grade infrastructure, digital-workplace and consulting practice—creating an end-to-end stack that scales from startups to multinationals.
Key services include:
- Nationwide service desk & on-site support
- Managed cybersecurity and compliance
- Scalable cloud migration and infrastructure hosting
- POS deployment and maintenance
- Digital-workplace collaboration tools
- IT strategy and transformation consulting
Coast-to-coast coverage, seamless hand-off
ABM said integration plans are already under way, with no service disruption expected. Existing Plenum customers will gain access to ABM’s cross-country field force and larger bench of specialists, while ABM clients pick up deeper western-region presence and PHoIP expertise.
Both firms are privately held and did not disclose purchase terms. However, the combined entity now commands nearly 400 technicians and consultants supporting clients from St. John’s to Vancouver.
The acquisition underscores a wider consolidation trend among mid-tier managed-service providers, as Canadian businesses seek partners that can secure networks, migrate workloads to the cloud and keep cash registers ringing—no matter the time zone or postal code.
