Accenture acquires 2 Italian tech firms to aid public sector

MILAN and NEW YORK – Outsourcing firm Accenture has signed an agreement to acquire Italian tech companies, Customer Management IT and SirfinPA, with the aim of helping Italian public service organizations build their digital core and deliver enhanced services to the citizens they serve.
Customer Management IT and SirfinPA, both founded in 2010, have helped the Italian Ministry of Justice in its operations, particularly through tech apps in the central criminal justice department. The two firms have also supplied the digital infrastructure for court hearings.
The two firms, with about 300 employees combined, also provide tech services such as system and application integration and management services, cloud application development, infrastructure management, and fleet management for desktops and servers.
“This acquisition boosts our ability and capacity to support Italian public sector innovation and help our government clients advance their transformation journeys,” said Mauro Macchi, chairman and chief executive officer of Accenture Italy.
This is Accenture’s latest investment in Italy, following its agreement to purchase artificial intelligence (AI) Ammagamma earlier this month. Ammagamma has aided firms from energy, insurance, banking, utilities, and media industries by installing the latest generative AI technologies in their systems.
The acquisition aligns with Accenture’s robust financial performance and leadership in digital transformation consulting. The firm topped the Time Doctor OA500, an index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing firms, with $61.6 billion in annual revenues for fiscal year 2022.
This year alone, Accenture has expanded its portfolio through 34 strategic acquisitions, including Bionest in the United States, SKS Group in Germany, Morphus in Ireland, and Nautilus Consulting in the United Kingdom.
