Accenture acquires Nautilus to boost healthcare digital transformation

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Global professional services giant, Accenture, has announced its acquisition of Nautilus Consulting, a United Kingdom-based digital healthcare consultancy known for its proficiency in Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solutions.
For an undisclosed amount, the merger will boost Accenture’s digital transformation footprint in the UK and worldwide healthcare sectors.
Integrating into Accenture’s Health Strategy & Consulting team, Nautilus will contribute its expertise in strategic and operational consulting services.
Based in London, the consultancy is renowned for its seasoned team comprising professionals from the NHS, private sector, and technical backgrounds. Nautilus also has vast experience in procurement and implementation of Oracle Health’s Millennium platform (formerly Cerner).
Ashish Goel, who spearheads Accenture’s Health industry practice in EMEA, remarked on Nautilus’ commendable EPR transformation achievements. He emphasized the merger’s potential to amplify healthcare services’ accessibility, experience, and outcomes.
“With increasing costs, resourcing challenges and greater demand than ever, now is the right time for us to unleash our potential with Accenture and make an even bigger difference to the healthcare ecosystem,” Nautilus Managing Director Simon Evans added.
Accenture has been actively involved in various digital health initiatives. The firm has been exploring various digital health strategies, such as cloud, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity.
The company topped the Time Doctor OA500, an index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing firms, with $61.6 billion in annual revenues for fiscal year 2022.
