Accenture acquires SIGNAL to boost marketing offerings in Japan

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES & TOKYO, JAPAN — Global consulting firm Accenture has completed its acquisition of Tokyo-based integrated marketing firm SIGNAL for an undisclosed amount.
First announced in July, the acquisition will enhance Accenture’s marketing capabilities and offerings in Japan.
Founded in 2005, SIGNAL is known for its public relations, social media management, influencer marketing, advertising operations, research, and web production services. SIGNAL’s 100 experts will join Accenture’s global workforce of over 733,000 professionals.
According to Atsushi Egawa, head of Accenture Japan, the collaboration with SIGNAL will empower Accenture to accelerate enterprise-wide transformations for clients in Japan and strengthen their competitive edge.
Daisuke Kusaba, CEO of SIGNAL, said the acquisition will amplify the services offered by both companies with a focus on value creation.
This is Accenture’s 18th acquisition this year as the company continues investing in strategic growth despite some recent belt-tightening measures.
Overall, Accenture has acquired close to 300 companies since becoming independent from Arthur Andersen in 1989.
According to a report, Accenture invested $3.4 billion in 38 deals during fiscal 2022, $4.2 billion in 46 deals in fiscal 2021, and over $1.5 billion in 34 deals during fiscal 2020.
Accenture topped the Time Doctor OA500, an index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing firms.
