Accenture appoints Unilever CEO to Board of Directors
DUBLIN, IRELAND — Technology outsourcing firm Accenture has appointed Alan Jope, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unilever, to the company’s Board of Directors.
This brings Accenture’s board directors to 10 — nine external and one independent.
Jope will serve on the board’s Nominating, Governance & Sustainability Committee, and he will be subject to re-appointment at the next Accenture plc annual general meeting of shareholders.
“Alan is a dynamic leader with vast expertise in the consumer goods industry and deep experience driving change through sustainable business at a global scale. He will bring valuable perspective and insight to our board and our company as we continue to execute on our strategy and create 360° value for all our stakeholders,” said Accenture Chair and CEO Julie Sweet, the board’s only internal director.
Jope joined Unilever, one of the world’s biggest consumer goods businesses, in the United Kingdom in 1985. Before becoming CEO, Jope served as President of the Beauty & Personal Care Division. He had also previously held leadership positions in North America and Asia.
Accenture is an Irish-American technology and consulting firm incorporated in Dublin. The company topped the Time Doctor OA500, the first index to provide objective means of analyzing, tracking, and comparing the world’s outsourcing firms.
