Accenture finalizes Parsionate acquisition to boost AI capabilities in Europe

FRANKFURT, GERMANY — Outsourcing giant Accenture recently completed the acquisition of Parsionate, a data consultancy specializing in data products and modern data foundation services.
This strategic move strengthens Accenture’s data and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in Europe, enabling the company to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions to clients across various industries.
Enhancing data expertise and industry knowledge
Parsionate is renowned for its ability to bridge the gap between data architectures and business context.
With deep industry-specific expertise in the retail, industrial, consumer goods, and life sciences sectors, Parsionate’s acquisition will enhance Accenture’s ability to provide highly tailored and effective data-driven solutions to clients in these markets.
“Parsionate’s holistic data expertise, from strategy development to technology implementation, will enhance our ability to provide clients with highly tailored and effective data-driven solutions that will help them harness the transformative power of generative AI,” said Christina Raab, market unit lead for Accenture in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, when the acquisition was first announced last May 2.
Expanding the data and AI workforce
The acquisition adds 130 professionals, including data consultants, architects, and engineers, to Accenture Technology’s Data & AI group.
Parsionate’s founders, Thomas Sperrfechter and Michael Fieg, will lead the data architecture and management portfolio within the group in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Meanwhile, Raab previously noted that businesses must be ready to harness AI in their daily operations.
Research from Accenture showed that 75% of C-level leaders plan to increase their spending on data and AI in 2024, compared to 50% in 2023.
Accenture’s growing AI capabilities through strategic acquisitions
The acquisition of Parsionate is the latest in a series of moves by Accenture to bolster its data and AI capabilities.
In recent months, the company has also acquired customer experience analytics provider GemSeek, process innovator Ammagamma, and data consultancy Redkite.
The acquisition of these AI firms forms part of Accenture’s $3 billion investment plan over three years in Data & AI practice. The outsourcing company aims to double its AI talent to 80,000 workers through hiring, acquisitions, and training.
Accenture ranked #1 in the 2024 OA500, the first objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies.
