Accenture boosts SAP, AI expertise with Camelot buy
MANNHEIM, GERMANY — Outsourcing giant Accenture has agreed to acquire Camelot Management Consultants, a Germany-based international SAP-focused management and technology consulting firm.
The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, but it is expected to strengthen Accenture’s capabilities in SAP and AI-driven supply chain management, providing clients with more intelligent and resilient supply chain solutions.
Strengthening supply chain and AI expertise
The purchase will bring more than 700 highly qualified professionals to Accenture, including SAP, data, and supply chain experts. This addition will strengthen Accenture’s ability to help clients build intelligent and resilient supply chains, a critical need in today’s volatile business environment.
According to Accenture’s research, only 9% of companies currently utilize AI and generative AI widely across their supply chains, a practice linked to higher profitability.
“Today, we are seeing a surge in demand for data and analytics services in supply chain management, strongly driven by increased market volatility and the need for companies to make their logistics more efficient,” said Tobias Regenfuss, Technology lead Austria, Switzerland and Germany, Accenture.
“With our acquisition of Camelot, we will further enhance our capabilities and services to help our clients use technology to address complex and pressing business needs and drive additional value.”
Global expansion and industry recognition
Libor Kotlik, Managing Partner of Camelot, expressed enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “Accenture’s global scale and service portfolio will enable us to bring innovative ideas and solutions to clients while creating exciting development opportunities for our people. In May 2023, Accenture also purchased Einr, a Norwegian SAP-focused business consulting company.
