Accenture boosts semiconductor automation through SYSTEMA acquisition

DRESDEN, GERMANY — Outsourcing giant Accenture has announced the acquisition of SYSTEMA, a Dresden-based provider of software solutions and consulting services for manufacturing automation, for an undisclosed amount.
The transaction is designed to enhance support for semiconductor and high-tech clients across Europe and beyond.
SYSTEMA’s deep-rooted expertise in the semiconductor industry will now bolster Accenture’s Industry X division, which focuses on digital manufacturing and automation.
“Today’s society relies heavily on semiconductors for everything from smartphones to cars, and there is a strong commitment in Europe to strengthen the industry’s manufacturing capabilities,” said Christina Raab, market unit lead for Accenture in Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
“The production of semiconductors is complex and highly specialized, and SYSTEMA’s deep expertise in the industry will expand our capabilities and grow our business in ways we couldn’t achieve organically.”
Automation expertise across industries
Founded in 1993, SYSTEMA specializes in digitally connecting both legacy and modern production equipment, with a particular focus on manufacturing execution systems (MES) from SAP and Critical Manufacturing.
The company’s solutions help semiconductor manufacturers optimize output and reduce costs by integrating data analytics and automation into traditional processes.
SYSTEMA’s reach extends beyond semiconductors to serve clients in aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, food & beverage, automotive, machinery, metal and steel, and specialty chemicals industries.
Headquartered in Dresden, SYSTEMA operates globally with offices in Malaysia, Singapore, the USA, India, Israel, and Brazil, ensuring worldwide support for its clients.
Its team of more than 240 employees will now join Accenture’s Industry X practice. SYSTEMA’s estimated annual revenue stands at approximately $27.1 million.
“With Accenture’s capabilities in data, AI, engineering and supply chain, and our manufacturing IT/OT solutions, we can innovate and scale more effectively, while continuing to strengthen our trusted client relationships,” said Manfred Austen, CEO of SYSTEMA.
