Accenture seals 5-year tech deal with National Football League

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — Leading outsourcing firm Accenture has signed a five-year partnership with the National Football League (NFL) to enhance the league’s tech capabilities on and off the field.
Accenture to boost NFL’s operations
The NFL is a professional American football league consisting of 32 teams, divided equally between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC). It is one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada, with teams spanning cities across the two countries.
The NFL is renowned for its immense popularity, lucrative television contracts, and its position as the most attended domestic professional sports league in the world.
Under the partnership, Accenture will aid the NFL in three key areas: Football, financial operations, and human resources.
The outsourcing firm will leverage industry experience and best practices to streamline the NFL’s corporate and club financial operations, driven by increased visibility into data and metrics.
Furthermore, the NFL will collaborate with Accenture to transform human resource management (HRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) functions through advanced analytics and automation, driving new efficiencies across back-office operations.
“We both understand the importance of embracing change and the transformational power of technology. As the game continues to evolve, we will lean on Accenture’s knowledge and expertise to elevate various areas of our business to benefit our game and our fans,” said Tracie Rodburg, senior vice president of sponsorship management at the NFL.
Accenture’s cross-industry deals
Like most outsourcing companies, Accenture engages in cross-industry pacts. In addition to its recent deal with the NFL, Accenture teamed up with supply chain platform RELEX to help retail company Lowe’s with its seasonal inventory planning.
Accenture will bring its wealth of experience in automation and artificial intelligence (AI), while RELEX will leverage its expertise in the home improvement retail sector.
Accenture ranked #1 in the OA500 2024, the first objective index of the world’s top 500 outsourcing companies. This is the second year the company clinched the index’s top spot.
