Accenture to acquire SIPAL’s IPS business in Italy

MILAN, ITALY — Outsourcing giant Accenture has announced an agreement to acquire the Integrated Product Support (IPS) business of SIPAL in Italy for an undisclosed amount.
The deal aims to enhance Accenture’s engineering capabilities for aerospace and defense clients across Italy and Europe.
The transaction will see around 250 SIPAL engineering professionals join Accenture’s Industry X division, which focuses on digital engineering, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.
SIPAL’s expertise and strategic fit
SIPAL’s IPS business, headquartered in Turin with offices throughout Italy, specializes in ensuring the operational availability of complex products and systems—including aerial and land vehicles and naval vessels—throughout their entire life cycle.
The business serves major aerospace and defense organizations and is involved in multiple national and European defense programs. Its services span product engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing support, and training.
“By acquiring SIPAL’s Italian IPS business, we once again confirm our commitment to investing in Italian excellence and support sectors that are strategic to the country,” said Teodoro Lio, Market Unit Lead for Accenture in Italy.
“SIPAL’s highly specialized defense engineering capabilities, combined with our deep product engineering, digital, data and AI expertise, will create an exceptional capability to drive reinvention across these industries, in Italy and Europe.”
Expanding Accenture’s European presence
This acquisition is part of Accenture’s broader strategy to expand its engineering and technology innovation capabilities in Italy and accelerate the digital transformation of industries critical to the country’s growth.
Ignazio Dogliani, CEO of SIPAL, commented, “This transaction represents an extraordinary opportunity to deliver even greater value to clients and to enable the IPS team to expand its presence in a broader and more international market.”
Since 2023, Accenture has completed six acquisitions in Italy, including companies include Ammagamma (AI), Intellera Consulting (public sector and healthcare), IQT Group (net-zero infrastructure), Fibermind (5G and fiber networks), Customer Management IT and SirfinPA (public sector, justice, and security).
