Accordion buys AI engineering firm Stride, adds Latin America team

- Accordion announced its acquisition of Stride on Oct. 13.
- Stride’s team of around 50 forward deployed engineers joins Accordion.
- Stride extends Accordion’s global delivery model into Latin America.
- Accordion has more than 1,700 professionals across 11 offices.
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — Private equity-focused financial consulting firm Accordion has acquired Stride, a software engineering firm that builds agentic artificial intelligence (AI) systems for clients in regulated industries.
Stride’s team of around 50 forward deployed engineers (FDEs) joins Accordion, and its Latin America presence extends Accordion’s global delivery model.
Engineers to sit beside finance teams
The deal gives Accordion a dedicated software engineering group built for complex, regulated industries, the company said in an Oct. 13 announcement.
Stride designs and ships production-grade agentic systems and custom software for enterprise clients in healthcare, financial services and other regulated industries.
Its senior engineers work embedded inside client teams.
The acquisition also gives Accordion’s next generation of AI-enabled finance products dedicated engineering capacity to move faster to market.
“Stride brings the technical talent we need to build and deploy AI for clients at scale, paired with everything we already know about how a finance function runs,” said Nick Leopard, chief executive officer of Accordion.
Stride’s leaders take managing director roles
Stride founder and chairwoman Debbie Madden joins Accordion as managing director and AI go-to-market leader.
Francisco Martin, Stride’s CEO, joins as managing director and AI product and engineering leader.
Kyle Roemer, Accordion’s managing director and global head of data and AI, called the combination a way to close the gap between AI pilots and initiatives that move earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA).
Roemer said talks with Madden and Martin made clear that they see the market the same way Accordion does.
“A demo is one thing. Getting AI into production inside a regulated business, without breaking anything, is another,” said Martin.
Accordion, headquartered in New York, has more than 1,700 professionals across 11 offices and describes itself as the chief financial officer’s partner in value creation.
Stride’s Latin America presence joins Accordion’s existing delivery teams across North America, Europe and India.
For the finance and accounting outsourcing sector, the deal shows advisers moving from recommending AI to building and running it inside client finance functions. Buyers can ask whether a provider’s engineers work alongside its finance staff, and can compare options in the comprehensive guide to outsourcing finance and accounting.
With a nearshore outsourcing base now added to its India teams, Accordion is positioned to staff agentic AI work for private equity portfolio companies at greater scale.
