Advania acquires RTS Group to expand managed services

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — Nordic IT services provider Advania has announced the acquisition of RTS Group, a Swedish IT company specializing in digital transformation and managed services.
The deal aims to expand Advania’s capabilities in areas like cloud migration, system integration, and advisory services.
RTS employs 190 people and has offices across Sweden. The company was founded in 2000 and offers IT infrastructure and consulting services focused on supporting clients’ digital transformation initiatives.
Meanwhile, Advania operates across Sweden, Norway, the UK, Iceland, Finland, and Denmark. With over 5,000 employees, it provides a broad range of technology solutions including managed services, hardware, software and consulting.
The acquisition will enable Advania to leverage RTS’s expertise to augment its managed services portfolio for clients in the Swedish market. Specific areas of focus include cloud migration, data center modernization, IoT integration, and cybersecurity consulting.
According to Advania CEO Tomas Wanselius, “This strategic acquisition aligns with our goal of becoming the preferred IT services provider for clients undergoing digital transformation. We look forward to integrating our capabilities with RTS to deliver enhanced value for our customers across the Nordics.”

The acquisition is backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, which has invested over $75 billion globally through its private equity arm since 1986. Advania is among its portfolio companies in Europe. The purchase price and deal valuation were not disclosed.
The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2023 after securing regulatory approvals.
