AI predicts staff resignations

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Betterteem Technologies, Inc., an artificial intelligence (AI) startup based in Manila, has developed a solution to tackle the costly issue of employee resignations faced by the Philippine business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, where attrition ranges from 30% to 40%.
The company’s predictive AI platform analyzes employee data to foresee resignations before they happen. This allows BPOs to proactively retain talent and avoid turnover costs estimated at over $1 billion yearly.
“Our technology allows operation and human resource (HR) leaders to anticipate employee resignations before they happen,” Founder and CEO Bo Discarga told BusinessWorld.
“We digest massive amounts of employee data from the existing data of our client’s HR system, such as compensation, performance reviews, and individual job function, and their demographics, enabling us to deliver our prediction of people heading for the door.”
By boosting satisfaction and reducing turnover, Betterteem promises a significant bottom-line impact. The company is committed to equipping businesses with innovative tools to enhance employee experience and proactively tackle resignations.
After graduating from Techstars Israel and securing funding, Betterteem now operates in the Philippines and South Korea. The startup offers BPOs a free trial of its AI-powered solutions to combat resignations.
In 2019, the AI of tech giant IBM reported 95% accuracy in predicting workers who were planning to leave their jobs.
Additionally, recruitment company Talent Propeller previously said that the new technology can customize algorithms to anticipate triggers that lead to staff resignation.
