AI adoption rises but few fear job loss – Adecco survey

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND — A new global survey by staffing firm The Adecco Group reveals widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace, with few workers expressing concerns over job displacement.
According to Adecco’s “2023 Global Workforce of the Future Report“, 70% of over 30,000 workers across 23 countries are already using the technology on the job. However, only 7% expressed concerns about potential job displacement.

Machuel also emphasized upskilling for the AI-driven skills economy, noting inadequate employer training with under 50% receiving guidance.
By industry, life sciences workers were most enthusiastic about AI while transportation employees were least positive. Australia led AI adoption at 86% versus 51% in Finland.
Adecco concluded by stressing the need for career mobility, skills enhancement, and well-being safeguards as technology transforms work.
The Switzerland-based company, which generated $23 billion in 2022 revenue across 60 countries, provides HR services including staffing, recruitment and training.
