AI startup raises $2Mn for business outsourcing revolution
NEW YORK, UNITED STATES — Tech startup Gushwork.ai secured US$2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round to redefine business process outsourcing (BPO) via artificial intelligence (AI).
The funding, led by Lightspeed and supported by B Capital, Sparrow Capital, Seaborne Capital, and Beenext, fuels the expansion of their marketplace. This platform offers offshore professionals proficient in AI applications to help businesses optimize their operations.
Launched in April, Gushwork.ai integrates AI technology and human expertise to delegate routine tasks, thus empowering businesses to concentrate on key strategies.
In an interview with TechCrunch, Gushwork.ai CEO and co-founder Nayrhit Bhattacharya described this business model as the ‘Uberization’ of the workforce, where part-time specialists replace full-time employees for a more flexible arrangement.
“Businesses don’t need to hire full-time… They can use somebody for a few hours — three hours this week, 40 hours next week — and then not use it for another week,” he explained.
Besides offering flexibility, Gushwork.ai equips its workforce with AI skills, transforming tasks once deemed creative into manageable, process-oriented ones.
The platform supports numerous functions, including email marketing, CRM setup, social media management, and lead generation.
In its inaugural quarter, Gushwork.ai attracted more than 50 businesses, managing over 200 diverse workflows. The new funding will enable Gushwork.ai to bolster its quality control and data security while planning for geographical expansion.
They are also keen to develop additional features and reach out to new customers, primarily focusing on small to medium businesses in the U.S. and Canada.
