AI to create more jobs, not replace workforce — Aboitiz Data Innovation
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Technology company Aboitiz Data Innovation (ADI) asserts that artificial intelligence (AI) will lead to more job opportunities rather than replace human roles.
In an interview, David Hardoon, CEO of ADI said AI will enhance human capabilities and benefit enterprises.
“Artificial intelligence will not replace people,” said Hardoon. “We are critically important and in fact, I can guarantee that the outcome of AI is needing more people because AI is about knowledge and providing information.”
Highlighting the continued hiring by global tech firms despite growing automation, Hardoon dismissed fears of a completely AI-driven workforce.
“You are not going to wake up someday and no humans have to work on anything,” Hardoon added. “I have yet to see an organization that needs less people when it has more information and knowledge.”
While AI tools like ChatGPT demonstrate competency, experts warned of potential job displacement. An IBM report indicated 40% of employees may require upskilling as AI evolves.
ADI already uses AI for asset inspections and vulnerability identification in energy and finance. The company’s mission is to showcase AI as a complement to human effort, enriching opportunities rather than diminishing jobs.
