Air NZ to recruit 200 additional call center workers

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) is looking to hire 200 additional members to its call center team to address the increasing number of bookings fielded by its customer support team.
The airlines’ call center team is under strain as New Zealand eases its COVID-19 restrictions, leading citizens to organize air travel and speak with the airline for assistance.
Air NZ Chief Customer and Sales Officer Leanne Geraghty acknowledged that this high demand prevents them from providing “the level of service we’re known for.”
Some callers are reportedly forced to wait for hours just to speak with a consultant.
Geraghty said, “We are working full steam ahead to get it (the customer service)sorted out and get resourced up properly, as quickly as we can, and get back to delivering the service standard that we’re proud of and known for.”
Aside from hiring new staff members, Air NZ shared that they will also redeploy their existing personnel to the call center department to help out with the calls.
Air NZ is encouraging anyone “passionate about delivering a high level of service” to send in their applications and be a part of their team.
