AMBA acquires Amwins affinity business to expand insurance reach

TEXAS, UNITED STATES — AMBA, a leading United States affinity marketing and supplemental insurance firm, has acquired the affinity business and business process outsourcing (BPO) operations of Amwins Group Benefits in a move that significantly broadens its national insurance and administrative footprint.
According to a press release, the acquisition includes long-standing association partnerships and a carrier-supported administrative infrastructure. It strengthens AMBA’s ability to deliver end-to-end affinity insurance program management and expands its services across employer-sponsored life and disability lines.
Expanding national affinity and administrative capabilities
Based in Irving, Texas, the acquired business serves affinity associations nationwide and administers carrier programs supporting port and conversion services—key components of the member lifecycle.
“This acquisition expands both AMBA’s national affinity platform and its carrier administrative capabilities,” said Nick Taylor, CEO of AMBA.
“By adding long-standing association relationships and outsourced program administration expertise, we are strengthening our ability to support association partners, deliver greater value to carriers, and drive long-term growth across our affinity portfolio,” Taylor added.
The transaction further positions AMBA as a comprehensive provider of affinity insurance solutions, enhancing its ability to support associations throughout the full insurance lifecycle.
It also expands the company’s presence in professional and membership-based markets, adding infrastructure for carrier-outsourced administrative services.
Standardizing operations to drive growth
AMBA plans to standardize the operating model of the newly acquired business, aiming to improve scalability and service delivery while maintaining continuity for association partners, carriers, and insured members.
The move aligns with AMBA’s broader strategy of targeted acquisitions to strengthen association relationships and deepen carrier partnerships.
With a growing base of association clients nationwide, AMBA focuses on delivering tailored insurance and benefit solutions across public employee, alumni, military, and professional verticals.
This acquisition reflects a broader trend in the outsourcing sector, where insurance providers are increasingly integrating BPO services to streamline administrative operations and enhance member experience.
By combining affinity marketing expertise with carrier-supported administration, AMBA is positioning itself to compete more effectively in the increasingly complex insurance outsourcing market.
Such strategic acquisitions could set a benchmark for other affinity and insurance providers seeking scalable solutions and stronger association partnerships.
