Apple scouts for generative AI talent globally

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — In recent months, tech giant Apple has been on a global recruiting spree for artificial intelligence (AI) specialists.
Under CEO Tim Cook’s guidance, the firm is keen to acquire expertise in generative AI to create tools utilizing local processing on mobile devices.
The job descriptions include expectations such as candidates with a demonstrated history in applied machine learning (ML) research.
”The role involves training large-scale language and multimodal models, deploying compact neural architectures efficiently on devices, and developing user-personalized policies in a privacy-respecting manner,” read one job posting.
These postings suggest Apple’s future products may incorporate generative AI. Cook recently admitted the company’s extensive AI research, including generative models, underscoring its pervasive presence in all Apple products.
He added that AI and machine learning are fundamentally integrated into all the firm’s products.
“On a research basis, we’ve been doing research on AI and machine learning, including generative AI, for years,” the Apple CEO concluded.
