Apple to provide relief assistance in PH, Malaysia

Tech giant Apple will contribute to the relief assistance and recovery efforts for the victims of typhoon Odette (international name Rai) in the Philippines, according to a social media post by Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Cook wrote that the company is looking to donate to the government’s long-term rebuilding efforts for communities that were severely affected by the typhoon.
According to data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the most affected areas of Odette were Northeastern Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Palawan.
As of December 22, the disaster agency reported a total of 177 deaths, 275 injured people, and 38 others missing during the wrath of the typhoon.
Apple is also looking to provide help for victims of the same typhoon in Malaysia.
