AscentHR acquires OS-HRS to scale APAC payroll

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — AscentHR has acquired OS-HRS Malaysia, OS-HRS Japan, and OS-HRS India from BREXA Inc. of Tokyo in a deal expected to nearly double AscentHR’s annual revenue.
According to a press release, the 100% equity transaction adds 140-plus payroll and HR professionals and two decades of multi-country expertise to AscentHR’s regional operations.
OS-HRS serves Fortune 500 and global enterprise clients across payroll processing, statutory compliance, and regulatory management. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Acquisition doubles revenue as APAC payroll coverage expands
The combined platform spans India, Japan, China, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, and Middle East markets — a multi-country footprint covering 20-plus jurisdictions.
OS-HRS’s in-country compliance specialists and native-language support fill a critical gap for multinationals managing complex, jurisdiction-specific payroll obligations. With 140-plus OS-HRS professionals joining, AscentHR builds one of the region’s largest in-house APAC payroll delivery teams.
“This marks an important milestone in AscentHR’s vision of building a leading regional payroll and workforce solutions platform. OS HRS brings deep regional expertise, strong customer relationships, and an outstanding reputation for payroll excellence,” said Subramanyam S., Founder and CEO of AscentHR.
Phased integration preserves OS-HRS client continuity
OS-HRS operated under BREXA Inc., formerly Outsourcing Inc. of Tokyo, before the divestiture — a move that allows BREXA to refocus its portfolio while AscentHR expands in APAC.
AscentHR will integrate the three OS-HRS entities in phases to preserve business continuity for Fortune 500 and enterprise clients across the combined organization. The acquisition positions AscentHR as a regional payroll platform competing with global HR technology providers on in-country compliance depth and local expertise.
“Together, we are creating a stronger organisation with expanded capabilities, enhanced regional reach, and the ability to deliver greater value to customers across Asia-Pacific,” Subramanyam added.
The AscentHR-OS-HRS deal reflects broader consolidation among APAC payroll outsourcers as regional providers build the scale needed to compete with global ERP vendors for multinational enterprise HR contracts.
Asia-Pacific payroll complexity — divergent tax regimes, labor laws, and statutory systems across 20-plus jurisdictions — creates structural demand for providers with in-country delivery depth.
For multinationals with regional workforces, APAC-native payroll platforms are emerging as a credible alternative to global ERP payroll modules, offering compliance precision that generalist vendors struggle to match.
