ASGN acquires TopBloc for $340Mn, appoints new president

VIRGINIA, UNITED STATES — ASGN Incorporated, an IT services and staffing solutions provider, has completed its acquisition of Chicago-based TopBloc for $340 million in cash and equity. The company simultaneously announced a key leadership change.
The merger positions ASGN as a major player in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) space, with immediate emphasis on the Workday ecosystem.
“Acquiring TopBloc ideally positions ASGN to enhance our services and immediately capitalize on these emerging opportunities in the ERP and Workday marketplace,” said ASGN’s Chief Executive Officer, Ted Hanson.
ASGN-TopBloc deal enhances service portfolio
Founded in 2016, TopBloc is a technology consulting firm that provides fixed-time, fixed-price Workday deployment services and on-demand Workday support.
The company has completed more than 300 Workday installations over the past five years, becoming a preferred certified Workday Services Partner for medium and large enterprise customers across North America.
“This acquisition is a significant step in our ongoing strategy to align with in-demand solutions and strong technology alliance partners, thereby extending their capabilities across ASGN’s deep customer base,” Hanson added.
“As ERP platforms are crucial to managing financial and human capital information across enterprises, they’ve become even more essential with the expansion of GenAI use cases that rely on clean, auditable, and secure data.”
TopBloc’s team of over 500 consultants will join ASGN’s Consulting Services. The acquisition is expected to generate approximately $150 million in revenue in full-year 2025.
ASGN leadership transition strengthens executive team
Alongside the acquisition announcement, ASGN confirmed that Shiv Iyer has officially assumed the role of President, effective immediately. Iyer succeeds Rand Blazer, who has transitioned to the role of Executive Vice Chairman.
Iyer brings extensive consulting experience to ASGN, having most recently led Accenture’s Consulting and Industry X solutions across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
The combined entity will leverage TopBloc’s expertise in Workday implementations across human capital management, financial management, and payroll services, enhancing ASGN’s ability to deliver comprehensive IT solutions to its clients throughout North America.
