Bangladesh’s BPDP inks call center contract with Digicon Technologies

State-owned Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDP) signs an agreement with private firm Digicon Technologies Limited to build a call center to deliver customer service to 3.60 million BDBP clients for the next two years.
Under the contract, Digicon Technologies Limited will build the call center within the next three months in Biduyt, Bhaban in Dhaka with its duties to be implemented by January 1, 2023.
“The call center and its system must be user-friendly, and there should be a unique number for all the entities in the power sector to lodge complaints,” Digicon Managing Director Wahidur Rahman Sharif said, urging BDBP to initiate the integration of all other call centers of other power distribution companies.
“It’s impossible to keep in mind different numbers of different entities as other distribution entities already set up their separate call centers,” he added.
Digicon Technologies will operate the system to four distribution zones – Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh, and Cumilla. In the meantime, it will also develop the necessary software and train up manpower.
