BAP urges gov’t to give greater mobility to fully-vaxxed individuals

The Philippine government should give greater mobility to fully vaccinated individuals as they can help the domestic economy’s recovery from the pandemic, said the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP).
In a statement issued on Monday, BAP noted that the economic activity in the country can be boosted now that over 50% of the population in the “metropolitan and adjacent areas” have been vaccinated.
The agency added that the mobility of individuals who have received full doses of vaccines against the COVID-19 virus “will encourage spending on various goods and services” especially on affected sectors like tourism, hospitality, and transportation.
Additionally, BAP said that domestic consumption by the vaccinated population will help the Philippine economy recover from its decline during the height of the pandemic.
