Biz groups want gov’t to take urgent action in vaccination efforts, CREATE bill approval

The private sector said they want the government to “seriously consider” and implement measures to help the country’s recovery, including vaccination programs and the approval of the proposed Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) law.
According to Makati Business Club (MBC) chairman Ed Chua, the sense of urgency “does not seem to be there” as CREATE is still not signed into law. Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. president Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. also noted that they’re pushing for the enactment of CREATE to boost investments.
Further, Management Association of the Philippines president Aurelio Montinola III said they want to see people get vaccinated “to allow the economy to bounce back from the impact of pandemic.” Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Benedicto Yujuico added that efficient vaccination would be key to economic recovery.
