BNEFIT bullish on 60,000 new jobs by 2022

The information technology-businesses process management (IT-BPM) industry in Negros Oriental currently employs about 33,000 workers, and the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communications Technology (BNEFIT) remains confident that this figure will hit 60,000 by 2022.
BNEFIT president Hajee Birth Aquino said the federation is upbeat about achieving the goal of creating 60,000 jobs by 2022, as set in 2016. Aquino said BNEFIT will continue to work with the industry and academia to ensure a healthy pool of talents ready to address the demands of BPO locators.
BNEFIT is now heavily investing its resources to cultivate jobs in other sectors, including KPO, healthcare industries, creatives, game development, and software development.
