Boeing to send 2,000 jobs to TCS

WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES — American aircraft manufacturer Boeing is reportedly outsourcing 2,000 jobs to Indian outsourced services provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Based on reports, TCS will be taking over Boeing’s finance and human resources jobs.
“We expect about 2,000 reductions primarily in Finance and HR through a combination of attrition and layoffs,” Boeing said in a statement.
With this organizational restructuring, Boeing said they are expecting to grow their workforce within the year.
“We grew Boeing’s workforce by 15,000 last year and plan to hire another 10,000 employees this year with a focus on engineering and manufacturing,” the statement said.
Boeing’s total workforce was 156,000 employees as of December 31, 2022.
Boeing has 3,500 direct employees in India. To add to this, 7,000 staff in India are employed at its suppliers which includes Tata Group. The TCS non-engineering work for Boeing will be done at a new facility in Bengaluru.
