BOI, AdU sign MOU to solve job mismatch

The Board of Investments (BOI) and Adamson University (AdU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that establishes a partnership in strengthening industry-academic linkages in order to develop a work-ready and globally competitive labor force in the Philippines.
In a statement, BOI Managing Head and Ceferino Rodolfo said “this collaboration will help our faculty and students understand the different industries – their needs and challenges – and possibly adapt to the future skills requirements as well as close the gaps in the industry value chains to achieve our shared objectives of industry development for quality employment of our graduates.”
The MOU is part of BOI’s Academe-Industry Matching (AIM!) activity that links two foreign companies and 17 academic institutions in the country.
Its goal is to discuss placement/recruitment, on-the-job training and possible industrial collaborations between academic institutions and private sectors “to make our colleges and students aware of industry trends and future of work skills requirements.”
Rodolfo noted that AdU’s flagship program on engineering is aligned with BOI’s goals on industry development, specifically on lessening skills mismatch in the country and using technology to solve industry problems.
AdU President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim added that the MOU “offers the University an opportunity to present its products and technologies for possible adoption by the local industries.”
