BPO firms, banks to help Davao City’s booster drive

The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms and local banks in Davao are tapped by the city government to help in its COVID-19 booster program.
In a radio interview, Davao City COVID-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said they are bringing the booster vaccination to BPO and banks to make it accessible to employees and their families.
As of writing, around 23% or 300,000 locals have already received their booster shots against COVID-19. The city government aims to vaccinate 1.3 million.
Schlosser noted that this big gap between their “boostered” population and their target forces them to do all they can to stop the virus’s possible spread and its Omicron subvariant.
The spokesperson added that many company executives are pleased that the city’s vaccination strategy has included BPOs and banks.
She said the local government is just waiting for their proposed schedule. Once finalized, she said the city government would mobilize teams to bring the vaccination to their doorsteps.
COVID-19 booster shots can be administered to individuals at least three months after receiving their last dose.
