BPO sector one of four DOLE priorities in safety, health inspections

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) identified the outsourcing sector as one of its four priority sectors for safety and health inspections this 2021. Other prioritized sectors include the construction, transportation, and manufacturing sectors.
In a virtual forum, Labor Assistant Secretary Ma. Teresita Cucueco said they’re looking to inspect over 70,000 establishments this year.
“A majority of the 71,000 establishments were monitored for the Covid-related issuances for workers prevention (last year). Of course, we have deficiencies. It was noted. We have 76 percent compliance (rate),” Cucueco said.
She added that more companies were able to comply with the health and safety protocols after their inspection and recommendation, which made the compliance rating go up at 92 per cent.
