Calian acquires Decisive Group to boost IT managed services

OTTAWA, CANADA — Calian Group, a provider of healthcare, communications, and cybersecurity solutions, has entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire all shares of Decisive Group, a provider of enterprise IT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.
The deal is valued at up to CA$74.7 million (US$54 million), with CA$50 million (US$36.1 million) to be paid in cash upon closing.
With expertise in managing and securing critical IT infrastructure for government and commercial clients, Decisive Group will reinforce Calian’s IT and Cyber Solutions (ITCS) division.
The acquisition enables Calian to offer a more comprehensive suite of managed IT services while growing its presence in key North American markets like Ottawa, Toronto, and the United States.
“Decisive Group brings a track record of excellence, highly personalized service and a hands-on approach to enterprise infrastructure operations and data protection,” said Greg Beauchamp, VP of Operations at Calian’s IT and Cyber Solutions division.
Mitchell Carkner, CEO of Decisive Group, expressed enthusiasm about joining Calian, which shares a similar commitment to modernizing and protecting customer infrastructure.
The deal is expected to close by end of 2023 after receiving regulatory approval. It comes on the heels of strong growth for Calian, which generated CA$582 million (US$421.2 million) in revenue in 2022, a 12% increase over prior year.
Decisive Group is Calian’s second acquisition this year and 14th overall, according to Crunchbase.
