Over 2.5K call center jobs now available in Philippines

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Philippines’ Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) recently announced over 2,500 job openings for call center agents nationwide.
According to the BLE’s post, call center agents topped the list as the most in-demand workers in the country, with 2,568 vacancies during that period. Office clerks ranked second with 1,340 openings, while sales clerks ranked third with 568 job opportunities.
The BLE sourced the data from Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) nationwide that regularly collect labor market information. PESOs serve as the main local facilitators between job seekers and employers.
Jobs in the booming Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry and administrative and sales roles continue to drive the nation’s employment growth. The IT-BPO sector in particular is expected to grow 8.8% in 2023 to $35.4 billion in revenue this year. Employment in the industry is also expected to rise by 8.7% in 2023 to 1.7 million full-time employees
Aside from call center agents, the BLE report also showed high demand for service crews (494 job posts) and cashiers (475 vacancies).
BLE added that interested applicants could visit their nearest PESO for pre-employment counseling, skills training options, and job matching services. PESOs connect qualified candidates with available positions posted by registered employers.
BLE is a staff bureau under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that has interrelated functions to promote and facilitate employment within the Filipino workforce.
