Capgemini acquires Australian design firm D+I

PARIS, FRANCE — Global technology services giant Capgemini has announced its acquisition of D+I (Design + Industry), an Australian product design and development consultancy.
This strategic move aims to enhance Capgemini’s engineering capabilities in Australia, particularly in the realm of intelligent industry offerings.
The acquisition, subject to regulatory approval and customary conditions, is expected to close in the coming months.
While the financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, the deal signifies Capgemini’s commitment to strengthening its position in the Australian market.
Expanding intelligent industry expertise
D+I, founded in 1987, has established itself as an award-winning team with deep expertise in mechanical engineering and electronics product development.
The company operates research and development (R&D) labs in Sydney, Melbourne, and Newcastle, specializing in services across the product lifecycle.
D+I’s focus on human-centered solutions, supported by engineering excellence, has positioned them at the forefront of developing intricate medical, scientific, and wellness devices for over three decades.

The acquisition will provide D+I with access to Capgemini’s global reach and client base, offering new opportunities for growth and expansion.

He further elaborated on the acquisition’s role in enhancing Capgemini’s product design capabilities across various Australian sectors, including medtech, industrial, and consumer products.
Capgemini, with its 340,000 team members in more than 50 countries, reported global revenues of €22.5 billion (US$24 billion) in 2023. The company’s expertise in AI, cloud, and data, combined with its industry knowledge, positions it as a leader in the intelligent industry field.
