Care Career acquires IDR, boosting travel nursing, education ops

NEVADA and GEORGIA, UNITED STATES — Care Career, a healthcare staffing firm, has acquired IDR Healthcare, adding an education staffing division, strengthening its travel nurse operations, and expanding its physical footprint into the Southeast United States.
Staffing Industry Analysts reports that the stock purchase marks Care Career’s sixth acquisition in the past 18 months and brings two new executives into the organization.
Acquisition expands staffing lines, Southeast reach
The acquisition of IDR Healthcare represents a calculated effort by Care Career to diversify its service offerings and enter new market segments.
IDR Healthcare, a spinoff of staffing firm IDR, operates in several specialized sectors, including travel nursing and travel allied staffing.
The company also provides clinical and nonclinical search services for healthcare clients. A key component of Care Career’s acquisition of IDR is IDR’s education staffing business, which focuses on placing school nurses, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and behavioral health technicians in schools.
John Nolan, President of Care Career, noted that the company had been seeking to build out an education practice, and this transaction immediately provides that capability.
Beyond new service lines, the deal enhances Care Career’s geographic presence. The acquisition includes IDR Healthcare’s physical office in Alpharetta, Georgia, marking a shift for Care Career, which had been operating as a fully remote company.
This expansion complements the company’s recent growth trajectory, which included the acquisitions of Alliant Personnel Resources, Amare Medical Network, MedUS Healthcare, and Next Move Healthcare in May 2025, followed by Source Medical Staffing in October 2025.
Leadership integration and future growth
A critical element of the transaction was the inclusion of IDR Healthcare’s leadership team, reflecting Care Career’s focus on cultural fit and operational expertise.
The deal brings Brandon Rogers, former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of IDR Healthcare, and Matthew Barnes, former Director of Operations, into executive roles at Care Career.
Nolan stated that he has known both individuals for a long time and that “they would be a great fit culturally.”
Rogers will now serve as Senior Vice President, leading Care Career’s growth efforts, while Barnes will take on the role of Director of Operations, overseeing the firm’s travel nurse operations.
This leadership integration is part of a broader strategy to solidify the company’s executive team following a series of rapid acquisitions.
“By adding IDR Healthcare to our portfolio we have solidified our broader leadership team, enabling us to implement the next steps in our long-term strategy,” Nolan said.
Nolan also indicated that the company continues to actively look for additional firms to acquire, suggesting that this deal is part of an ongoing pattern of consolidation rather than an isolated transaction.
The deal was structured as a stock purchase, underscoring the comprehensive integration between the two firms.
