CareerBuilder, Monster finalize merger deal

ILLINOIS, UNITED STATES—CareerBuilder and Monster have officially completed their merger, combining two of the industry’s most prominent job boards.
The companies announced the finalization of the deal after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals, a move expected to increase the scale and reach of their job search and recruitment services.
The combined entity, temporarily known as CareerBuilder + Monster, aims to leverage the strengths of both brands to better serve employers and job seekers in an evolving talent marketplace.
Leadership team announced for combined company
Jeff Furman, CEO of the newly merged company, expressed enthusiasm about the union: “We are able to leverage the best-in-class solutions, capabilities, and expertise from both companies to better serve both our candidates and employers and help them navigate the evolving talent marketplace.”
The company also announced a new leadership team. Dinesh Arora will serve as Chief Technology Officer, Scott Blumsack as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, and Brian Burbrink as Chief People Officer. Other key figures include Leslie Cope as Chief Product Officer, Ahern Dull as Chief Operating Officer, Mark Pacioni as General Counsel, and Mike Suhajda as Chief Financial Officer.

Market position and future prospects
According to the Online Job Advertising Market: 2024 Update report by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), Randstad with Monster ranked 20th in online job advertising revenue globally, generating $211 million in 2023 prior to the merger. CareerBuilder followed closely at 21st place with $200 million in revenue.
The combination of these two industry giants is expected to create a more competitive entity in the job board market.
CareerBuilder, with over 25 years of experience, operates in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Canada, offering a job board and recruiting platform. Monster, founded in 1994, has a global presence and is known for its innovative digital solutions in the recruitment industry.
Both websites will continue to operate separately for now, and further details about branding and integration will be announced later.
