Cebu to mount overseas trade missions this 2023
CEBU, PHILIPPINES — The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is looking to schedule more overseas trade missions this year to inform the world that Cebu is “open for business.”
According to CCCI President Kennet Co, the chamber is looking to coordinate with dignitaries from Bangladesh, Canada, Denmark, the European Union (EU), India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Nigeria, Singapore, and Sweden.
Last year, the CCCI delegation went to various countries including Japan, Israel, and India to arrange meetings with local agencies.
Co stated that these inbound trade missions allowed the CCCI members to start off partnerships with overseas companies, riding on with the renewed economic vitality rising from the negative effects brought about by the pandemic.
In 2022, CCCI met with four newly appointed ambassadors from the Argentine Republic, Israel, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to build connections and explore business opportunities for these countries.
With closer linkages and strong connections, Co expressed confidence that CCCI member companies will be able to find opportunities abroad and expand markets.
“We don’t have much market information on other potential countries. There are like 80 countries all over the world and we are just probably exporting to 10. There are other countries that we haven’t tapped yet,” Co added.
