CHED, IBPAP signs a memorandum to strengthen PH IT sector

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with (IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines) IBPAP to equip more Filipinos with Information Technology (IT) competencies.
According to CHED chair J. Prospero “Popoy” de Vera III, the signed MOU is in line with the administrative order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to bolster the country’s digitization.
In the memorandum, it says that CHED offers Information and communications technology (ICT) programs to improve new global ICT competencies and for the development of colleges and universities to further assist its students to the demands of the current job skills matching.
IBPAP president Jack Madrid says that the initiative will not only be implemented in Metro Manila but as well as in other regions of the country. He adds that if the initiative is fulfilled, 1,000,000 Filipinos will be secured a job until 2028.
Further, Madrid confirms that there are several jobs waiting for IT graduates.
