MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Investment pledges brought home by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. from his state visit to China will bring in additional “revenue, livelihood of people and jobs” to Filipinos, said Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime FlorCruz.
According to FlorCruz, these agreements will bring “tangible benefits” that signify a good relationship between the two countries.
The two countries also signed an agreement to provide more job opportunities for Filipino customer service providers. According to the ambassador, both countries could make a deal that would allow Filipinos to serve as the backbone of the Chinese call center industry.
The IT, agriculture, and infrastructure industries were also discussed during Marcos’ three-day state visit to China.
Further, the ambassador stated that the two countries are also looking to boost their people-people exchanges this year.
Marcos brought home a total of 14 investment pledges worth $22.8 billion from his three-day state visit to China.
