Cisco, Theta Lake launch AI-powered Webex Compliance Hub

CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES — Cisco and Theta Lake have teamed up to launch Webex Compliance Hub, a new AI-powered compliance and risk management solution built directly into the Webex platform.
The tool is designed to help organizations, particularly those in regulated industries, meet evolving compliance and security demands in digital and AI-driven communications.
Unified platform for compliance and security
The Webex Compliance Hub is built as a supplementary tool to the existing Webex Control Hub and will be available for both current and new Webex customers. It provides an integrated suite of compliance and risk functions, including compliant archiving, recordkeeping reconciliation, eDiscovery, legal hold, inspection, and supervision.
“Cisco has long been a leader in providing comprehensive security, compliance, and privacy solutions. Our partnership with Theta Lake is pivotal to continue empowering our customers, particularly those in highly regulated industries, to not only meet but exceed their compliance requirements across all forms of digital communication,” said Amit Barave, Vice President (VP) of Product Management, Webex by Cisco.
The solution covers multiple communication modalities such as Webex Messaging, Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, SMS, call logs, transcripts, and output from Cisco’s AI Assistant for Webex. By offering a single, integrated platform, Cisco and Theta Lake aim to simplify governance across increasingly complex collaboration channels.
Bridging governance and AI collaboration
As workplace collaboration expands across text, audio, and video, with AI now playing an active role, Cisco and Theta Lake say unified compliance is no longer optional.
“Theta Lake’s mission is to provide an AI and Cloud Native solution for governance that is built into the fabric of multi-channel communications and collaboration in the modern workplace,” said Devin Redmond, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-founder of Theta Lake.
He added that the vision is to replace outdated single-mode archiving with proactive, AI-driven governance: “Our vision is to replace the legacy approach of single mode archiving that created reactive compliance with the ability to cover any modality; provide compliant recordkeeping; deliver AI powered insights; address risk across regulatory compliance, human and AI conduct, and address data protection in digital and AI communications.”
Global outsourcing wave extends to compliance and security
The launch of Webex Compliance Hub reflects a broader trend: enterprises are increasingly outsourcing highly specialized functions to technology providers rather than building them in-house. Just as compliance is being embedded into collaboration platforms, industries from finance to healthcare are turning to external partners to manage regulatory, security, and operational risks.
This shift mirrors the global outsourcing market, where companies balance cost efficiency with quality by leveraging trusted third-party solutions, suggesting Compliance-as-a-Service (CaaS) could become a standard model in enterprise collaboration.
