Cisco to invest at least US$1m in PH

Cisco, the global technology giant, seeks to invest at least US$1m to improve connectivity and cybersecurity in the Philippines. The investment is part of Cisco’s worldwide program to invest in connectivity initiatives across the globe.
The Philippines is only the 25th country in the world where Cisco is making this investment, said Cisco Philippines managing director Karrie Ilagan. The initiatives would include investment in the national broadband plan, which seeks to accelerate the deployment of fiber optic cable and wireless technologies to improve internet speed and cost in the country.
Cisco is also looking at providing support to cybersecurity in the Philippines.
