Citi to invest $11Mn in a new call center hub in Tennessee

Investment banking firm Citigroup (Citi) will be investing about $11 million to facilitate the relocation of its call center operations to Johnson City, Tennessee.
In a press release, Citi spokesperson Kerri King said that this decision was made based on an “opportunity to optimize and modernize our facility in a way that better meets our current business needs while sustaining our presence and community commitment to the Tri-City (sic) area.”
King added that the relocation will not impact their existing call center operations in Gray, Tennessee and “is [only a] part of ongoing efforts to optimize Citi’s footprint.”
Moreover, the new location will continue to serve as a banking operations facility for the company.
According to the Washington County’s property records, Citi bought the building on Lake Park Drive in November for $6 million
“The new facility will be custom built to include state-of-the-art designs, the latest technology, and amenities that support Citi’s future of work strategy, and our talented and committed teams in Gray,” King noted.
The company did not share a specific timeline for the completion of the renovation.
