Clark BPO steps up COVID-19 measures after 25 employees caught virus

Freeport-based business process outsourcing (BPO) company Buwelo BPO Solutions promised to implement stricter COVID-19 measures. This is after 25 of its employees have tested positive for the virus, as reported by Outsource Accelerator last week.
In a statement, the company’s CEO Kevin Charles said that they implement “localized lockdowns” that would involve staggered partial closure of offices in the firm’s three-level BPO facility at the Subic Gateway Park.
The company will also allow over 700 of its employees to temporarily work from home to minimize health risks and perform top-to-bottom disinfection of company premises.
To further help affected employees, Charles said the company provided shouldered half of the cost of their swab tests and also paid the salary of all employees who were advised to undergo quarantine.
