Cognizant to boost Cermaq’s tech in renewed deal

NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES — Outsourcing firm Cognizant and salmon producer Cermaq have extended their existing 10-year partnership with a new deal to enhance the latter’s cloud system.
Cognizant will simplify and modernize Cermaq’s digital systems across infrastructure services, On-Premise and Cloud, while also testing the latest technology trends, including artificial intelligence and generative AI.
Through the extended pact, Cermaq aims to broaden its presence in Norway and Canada, two of the world’s leading seafood producers.
Cognizant is looking to reduce ownership costs, streamline operations, and prepare Cermaq’s digital systems for the future.
“Norway is one of the leading countries for seafood production and relies heavily on the blue economy. Through our collaboration with Cermaq we look forward to evolving our expertise in the Nordic Aquaculture and Seafood industry,” said Knut Inge Buset, Country Manager of Cognizant Norway.
Davor Crnoja, Head of Global IT at Cermaq Group AS noted that they will rely on Cognizant’s IT expertise to streamline their operations and boost their sales.
