Cognizant, Microsoft partner to drive GenAI adoption in enterprises

NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES — Outsourcing firm Cognizant and tech giant Microsoft have forged a global partnership to accelerate the enterprise adoption of generative AI and drive industry-wide transformation.
Cognizant’s Microsoft shopping spree
As part of the deal, Cognizant acquired 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats for its employees, along with 500 Sales Copilot seats and 500 Services Copilot seats. This initiative aims to boost productivity, simplify staff workflows, and transform customer experiences.
Additionally, the outsourcing firm will deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot to a million users within their global 2,000 clients and across 11 industries.
Through Cognizant’s Synapse skilling program, 35,000 Cognizant developers have been trained on Github Copilot, with an additional 40,000 developers set to receive training.
“Our expanded partnership with Cognizant will help organizations harness generative AI to transform business operations, enhance employee experiences, and deliver new value for customers,” said Judson Althoff, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Microsoft.
Cognizant, Microsoft to deliver industry-focused services
The two firms will harness the power of Copilot Studio to meet the specific needs of firms from different industries. Cognizant has several development projects in various industries.
For example, in the media industry, Cognizant is developing an AI-based solution for the creation of accurate subtitles, dubbing, and cultural adoption.
With a manufacturing firm, Cognizant is harnessing GenAI to assist field technicians in identifying, analyzing, and resolving maintenance issues.
An education services provider has also tapped Cognizant to create an AI-powered platform that delivers personalized content according to the preferences and needs of teachers and students.
Finally, a communications firm is using GenAI to streamline processes across sales and service delivery.
