Cognizant opens new techfin hub in GIFT City, India

GUJARAT, INDIA — Cognizant, a global technology and professional services company, has launched a new techfin center in GIFT City, Gujarat, marking an expansion of its footprint in India.
TechFin is a term coined by Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba. It refers to technology companies leveraging their technological expertise to provide financial services.
The 60,000-square-foot facility, located at Pragya II, will initially host 600 employees with plans to grow to 2,000 over the next three years. The new hub will focus on accelerating AI-led digital transformation for clients in banking, financial services, insurance, and fintech.
“By deepening our presence here, we aim to better serve the evolving needs of our clients, unlock new opportunities for skilled talent, and contribute meaningfully to the region’s long-term growth,” said Jatin Dalal, Chief Financial Officer, Cognizant.
“The new center marks another milestone in our strategic plan to expand into Tier-2 cities, continue to upskill talent, scale innovation, and enable global clients to lead in an AI-first economy.”
Designed for innovation, wellbeing, and inclusivity
The techfin center has been built to support collaboration, sustainability, and employee wellness. Interiors inspired by Gujarat’s traditional Lippan art blend cultural heritage with modern design. The facility includes a wellness zone, gym, yoga space, medical center, mother’s rooms, and neurodiverse-friendly features.
A cafeteria that doubles as a town hall supports informal team engagement, while an executive floor accommodates strategic client discussions.
With LEED certification in its sights, the facility reflects Cognizant’s sustainability goals and people-first philosophy.
Strategic hiring and regional growth
To fuel the new center’s growth, Cognizant is actively recruiting talent through campus drives, walk-in events, and partnerships with local institutions. It is also promoting internal mobility for associates across its existing India operations.
“GIFT City is a world-class financial and technology hub. Backed by sustainable infrastructure and a tremendous focus on ease of doing business, the city represents the future of business-friendly urban development,” said Shri Bhupendra Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat.
“Cognizant’s presence in GIFT City further reinforces Gujarat’s growing stature as a preferred destination for global technology companies. I am confident that this new center will significantly contribute to innovation, job creation, and the continued growth of the city.”
