FLORIDA, UNITED STATES — Costa Rica is ramping up efforts to attract multinational companies to its shores, showcasing the country as a prime hub for global corporate services at Shared Services & Outsourcing Week 2026 (SSOW) in Orlando, Florida.

The initiative highlights the nation’s growing footprint in high-value business operations and digital services.

Costa Rica’s robust service ecosystem draws attention

Through a targeted agenda of meetings and an investment outreach mission in Tampa, Florida, the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) positioned the country before top decision-makers in the corporate services sector.

According to a press release, SSOW, held from March 17 to 19, convened industry leaders to discuss trends, digital transformation strategies, and emerging operating models across finance, human resources, cybersecurity, logistics, insurance, and software development.

“Costa Rica has built a robust ecosystem for global service delivery. Today, more than 350 companies in the sector operate in the country, generating over 115,000 formal jobs and managing regional and global functions from Costa Rica. This positioning enables us to actively compete for new investments in business services and high-value digital operations,” said Mónica Umaña, Foreign Direct Investment Attraction Manager at PROCOMER.

PROCOMER highlighted the country’s political and economic stability, skilled workforce, and competitive business environment as key factors for companies considering new shared services centers or specialized digital operations

Meetings with multinational firms exploring expansion projects allowed Costa Rica to better understand operational requirements and showcase potential pathways for establishing or growing operations in the country.

The mission in Tampa also opened doors for new collaborations as PROCOMER worked directly with executives to develop new service models together with technology-based operational systems.

The country enhanced its image as a future-oriented business destination through success stories from current investors who testified to Costa Rica’s success in digital transformation.

Strengthening ties and fostering reinvestment

Following the conference, PROCOMER conducted an investment outreach mission in Tampa, engaging companies with existing operations in Costa Rica and local economic development organizations.

These discussions aimed to identify opportunities for expansion or reinvestment, reinforcing relationships with United States-based corporate service centers and deepening engagement with regional stakeholders.

Costa Rica’s efforts demonstrate the global tendency of nations to establish themselves as important centers for business operations and digital service delivery. Costa Rica establishes itself as an investment destination through its strong business ecosystem and stable operating environment with its educated workforce.
